OMPS Tactical Trade Update - October 2026
OMPS brings together a range of Omnis funds, managed by some of the world’s leading investment managers, which we have carefully selected. We then actively manage the overall combination of those funds, adapting the portfolio as the investment environment evolves
Summary
We implemented several changes and conducted a full rebalance of the OMPS portfolios.
Reduced UK Gilt Fund; Increased Omnis Short-Dated Bond Fund
- We reduced our allocation to the Omnis UK Gilt Fund in order to reduce interest rate sensitivity.
- Historically, these assets generally perform well during periods of falling interest rates, however, the current environment of higher inflation and tighter monetary policy presents a more challenging backdrop for longer dated bonds.
- We subsequently reallocated funds across the Omnis Short-Dated Bond Fund.
- Shorter dated bonds are impacted less by changing interest rates because there is less time for those changes to influence their value.
Reduced Omnis Strategic Bond Fund; Increased Omnis Global Bond Fund
- In the lower risk profiles, we took a view to take advantage of the recent GBP appreciation and reduced exposure to the Omnis Strategic Bond Fund.
- With a view to retaining global bond exposure, we reallocated funds across the Omnis Global Bond Fund, with this fund providing a broader set of currency exposure.
